If I haven’t made myself unequivocally clear by now, I’m a sucker for cute packaging. You could probably wrap dirt in some sparkly paper, add a bow and label it something very quirky and I’d be sold! UCANBE is an online based indie brand. Their packaging is the definition of cuteness! I’d seen their products all over Amazon but never really thought about trying them. It wasn’t until I saw this little palette that my wallet start to tingle. Don’t get me wrong though. It wasn’t solely about the packaging. I’m not THAT much of an impulsive person. It’s just that this palette happened to fit multiple of my requirements.
Firstly, I was on the hunt for a colourful palette as my collection had only consisted of neutral earthy tones and various pinks. Every now and then you just want a little pop of green, no? Secondly, the price point. This product retails for $13 USD ($26 BZD). That’s not too bad given the average price I normally pay for drugstore make up, much less high end make up. I don’t even wanna talk about it. I really didn’t want to splurge on a colourful palette and end up hating it because then I’d end up hating myself for being financially irresponsible! Lastly, of course, because it was aesthetically pleasing, duhh!

After finally getting to hold the palette in my hands, I thought it was actually worthwhile. Although the packaging is cardboard, it feels very high quality. It’s solid and has a bit of weight to it thus making it not feel all flimsy which is very much appreciated. It also has little magnets that hold it shut in place so as to protect your shadows when you put the palette into storage. When you open it you’re greeted by an exceptionally high quality mirror and, of course, 30 vibrant arrays of colours in a variety of different finishes namely shimmer, melted metallic and good ole classic mattes.

Does the pigment translate well on my eyelids? I’d say that they do. Of course they aren’t the most pigmented eyeshadows ever, but for less than $50 they perform well! You do need to spend a little longer whilst blending so as to diminish any harsh lines and patchiness, but overall it is quite manageable.

As you can see, even the names are adorbs! This has easily become one of my staples for obvious reasons. Appearance aside, it’s a palette built for your convenience. It has a wide selection of shadows for you to choose from so you can create a sultry smokey eye or a peachy natural look. It also helps that it’s rather compact and has a mirror so you can take it with you when you travel.
This would make a perfect summer palette or just fit for someone who wants to accentuate their eyes with more colours. The best part is that you won’t have to break the bank in order to achieve your desired look!
So the question is: Would I recommend this palette?
The answer is: Totally! Shop this palette on Amazon.
Get those creative juices flowing!
